Frances Elaine Cooke CASTAIC, Calif.

Frances Elaine Cooke, 66, of Castaic, Calif., died at her home Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. She was born in Morganton, Aug. 30, 1947, a daughter of the late Edgar W. and Rethel Price Cooke. She graduated from Salem High School in 1965 and later made her home in Southern California in 1974. Ms. Cooke was recently employed with AEG of Los Angeles for the past 10 years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by a brother, Edgar W. Cooke Jr. (Bill). She is survived by two sisters, Coleen Clay (Robert) of Bouse, Ariz., and Yvonne Rohde (Walter) of Bluffton, S.C.; two nephews, Wayne Freeman of Morganton and Robert Griswold of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; a great-niece, Tana F. Black of Morganton; a great-nephew, Casey Griswold of Corvallis, Oreg.; three great-great-nieces; a sister-in-law, Patti Cooke of Polkville; a special stepniece, Annette Davidson of Charlotte; three aunts, Lillian Price of Morganton, Lois Cooke and Nell Cooke, both of Vale; longtime friend and caregiver, Ernest Woolston of Castaic, Calif.; and her cats, Misty and Shane. At her request, no services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to you local humane society.
