Larry Wesley Franklin, 75, of Valdese passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2022 following a period of declining health.
Larry was born on March 6, 1947 in Burke County to the late Arthur Wesley Franklin and Jewel Burnette Franklin. He loved his family, sports, and his fur babies.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Deaton Franklin; son, Kevin (Tracy); grandchildren, Wesley Franklin (Megan), Lauren Harris (Dylan), and Natalie Franklin; great-grandchildren, Everett Franklin; brothers, John Franklin (Judy) and Steve Franklin (Betty); uncle, Bud Franklin (Frances); stepchildren, Janice Sain, Sylvia Smith (Danny), and Joyce Denton (Steve); numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Emory officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at the church cemetery, with Military Honors presented by the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church at 1112 Hopewell Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
